Our prized 3D Cabernet spends almost three years aging in new French oak barrels. This prolonged aging process allows the wine to become harmonious and seamless in texture. Fine grain tannins provide ample structure, and the core of currants, blackberry, plum and black olive shine through. Layered and complex, hints of spearmint, licorice, and a slight barrel toastiness can also be discovered.
Black cherry and blackberry are the first aromatics to shine through on this elegant Cabernet. Full bodied and rich, the tannins are firm yet refined, commanding a robust plush quality. Hints of barrel spices reveal a slight toastiness, which is complemented by cigar box, leather, and plum on the back end.
Upon first impression, blueberry and blackberry fruit burst from the glass. As the wine opens up and has ample time to breathe, hints of black pepper, cola, olive, and black cherry unfold in aromatic layers. Refined powdery tannins frame a full, concentrated ripe berry profile on the palate. Velvety smooth in texture, with ample structure to support the fruit, it lingers long after the last sip.
With just 0.99 acres planted on our Dr. Crane Vineyard, we only make Merlot in selected exceptional vintages when the wine warrants a special bottling. Aromas boast of bing cherry, raspberry, and dried rose petal upon entry. Medium bodied and velvety in texture, refined tannins finish with a slightly chalky character, featuring hints of cola and spearmint. This Merlot was very lightly fined and bottled unfiltered. Our 2017 Retaggio blend offers a delightful rendition of old world rusticity meeting new world opulence. Featuring notes of dried cranberry, Italian leather, black cherry and cola, the silky entry gives way to the impression of fruit sweetness. On the palate it is smooth, focused, and layered. As the wine opens up, savory notes of green olive and soy sauce come alive, along with a distinctly floral persuasion, hinting at dried rose petal. The tannins are soft and refined framing the core nicely, and the finish lingers long after your last sip.
A blend of three distinct Sauvignon Blanc clones, our 2018 is bright and lively featuring Meyer lemon, key lime zest, and pineapple. Playfully tropical on the palate, the slight mid palate creaminess imparted by partial neutral oak aging is balanced out with fresh, youthful acidity. Layered with different textures, this wine is persistent and features a touch of minerality long after the last sip. It pairs well with oysters, a variety of fish, and oven grilled chicken.
